History

Creek's Ege Elk Farm was formed in 2004 when we, Susan Keith and Stacy Handy, bought our first elk from a farm in Buffalo, NY. A year later we began selling retail cuts of elk meat at our on farm store and at several farmer's markets. As we marketed our meat and learned about our customers, we began to see that there was a real desire for healthy, locally raised meat. Stacy and her husband Israel began selling beef in 2007 to friends and relatives and soon word spread that there was a place to buy quality beef besides the grocery store. Slowly the idea began to form in our minds that we could expand and offer our customers more choice. Since we knew very little about raising chickens or lamb we approached farmers who did and in 2010 we formed Crum Creek CSA.
